Choose your stone
Each stone behaves differently in a working kitchen. Not sure which? Start with quartz or granite.
Quartz worktops
Even colour from slab to slab, no sealing, easy to keep clean.
Granite worktops
Natural stone that shrugs off heat and wear. Every slab is different.
Porcelain worktops
Slim, heat-proof and UV-stable, with striking marble looks.
Marble worktops
Classic veining and a soft finish that ages with the kitchen.
Work we do
From a single worktop swap to a full kitchen with an island. If your units are sound, a stone top on the existing units may be all a tired kitchen needs.

Worktops for a city built since 1967
Milton Keynes Development Corporation was set up on 23 January 1967 to build the new city, and laid it out on a grid of main roads roughly a kilometre apart. The corporation was wound up in 1992, and the city has kept growing since. So a large share of homes here are less than sixty years old, with kitchens built to standard sizes and units that are often sound enough to take stone when the original worktops wear out.
That makes replacement worktops one of our most common jobs: the old laminate comes off, the units are checked, and new quartz, granite or porcelain goes on. Source: Wikipedia.
Hard water: choose and clean accordingly
Milton Keynes water is hard. Anglian Water’s 2025 data puts the MK1 supply zone at an average of at least 287 mg/l, above the 250 mg/l it classes as hard. Limescale does not harm quartz, granite or porcelain, but the acidic products used to remove it will etch marble. Our hard water guide explains how each stone copes and how to clean it safely.
Older towns and conservation areas
Not everywhere here is new. Milton Keynes City Council has 27 conservation areas, including Stony Stratford, Newport Pagnell, Olney, Wolverton and Bletchley. Conservation area rules are about how buildings look from outside, so new worktops are not normally affected. Listed buildings are different, and Olney and Wolverton also have Article 4 directions covering some outside changes. Our town pages explain what applies where. Source: Milton Keynes City Council.

Quick answers
Do you fit kitchen units as well?
We make and fit all the stone surfaces: worktops, islands, upstands and splashbacks, plus sills and vanity tops. Units go in first, usually fitted by your kitchen fitter, and we template once they are in place.
How do I get a price?
Call 01908 024464 or leave your number in the form. A sketch with rough lengths and the stone you like is enough for a first price.
Which stone should I choose?
Quartz for easy care and an even colour, granite for heat and natural character, porcelain for heat and sunlight, marble if you love the look and accept some wear. Our guides go into detail.
Can you replace just the worktops?
Yes. If your units are sound and level, we can fit stone on the kitchen you already have.
